富者與貧者的差別

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country
with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.
有一天，一個非常富有的父親, 帶他的兒子到鄉村旅行,
一心讓兒子看看窮人的生活。

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered
a very poor family.
他們在農場, 和一個被認為非常貧窮的家庭, 一起生活幾天。

On the return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
在回程時, 父親問他的兒子 : “這次旅行怎樣？”
‘爸爸 ! 這次旅行真棒。’

"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
“你感受到窮人的生活嗎？” 父親問。
‘感受到了 !’ 兒子說。

"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
"那麼, 告訴我, 你在這次旅行學到了甚麼？” 父親問。

The son answered:
兒子回答︰

"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
‘我看見他們有四條狗, 而我們只得一條。

We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek  that has no end.
他們有一條小溪伸展到無限遠, 而我們的水池, 只伸展到我們花園的中間。

We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
他們在夜裡有星星, 而在我們的花園, 只有從外國進口的燈籠。

Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
他們的露台能望到水平線, 而在我們的露台只能望到前院。

We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
他們居住在茫茫無際的田野, 而我們只居住在一塊小小的土地上。

We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
我們有僕人為我們服務, 而他們為其他人服務。

We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
我們買食品, 而他們種植食品。

We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."
我們四週有牆壁保護我們的財產, 而他們四週有朋友保護他們。 "

The boy's father was speechless.
男孩的父親說不出話來。

Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are."
然後他的兒子補充說 : ‘感謝爸爸, 讓我看到我們是多麼貧窮。’

Isn't perspective a wonderful thing ?
觀念豈非一件令人驚嘆的事情嗎？

Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.
它能使你得到啟示,
為我們目前擁有的事物感恩而不是為我們目前缺乏的事物煩惱。

欣賞你擁有的每一件事物, 特別是你的朋友 !
