Visit Taiwan【By Charles Wu】
In 2003, I visited Taiwan in autumn.
The scenery was beautiful and trees with blossom.
People held grand ceremony in the Ghost Festival.
At Jiu-feng, various shops were in business and bustle.
Democracy and free trades can create more wealth.
Laws and fairness are of equal importance as health.
Communications with Mainland China will be expected..
Unification is what all Chinese have chatted !

My Home【By Charles Wu】
The completion of my new house brought me joys.
Away from crowd it cited at a quiet urban suburb.
The fine interior decorations are all from Europe.
The Sharon rose and other flowers I planted myself.
In the den, I compose poems or studying the guiding textbooks.
At balcony, we enjoy the beauty view while moon or cloud floats.
Always, tea, good wine and delicious food is prepared at finger.
It is a welcome to bosom friends who talk over-night together.

諸生坎坷恨輪迴 , 酒色沉迷實不該。君子安貧堅抱志 ; 奸人諂媚力爭財。
窮通有定空悲喜 ; 夭壽無常勿傲哀。止惡修身甘向善 , 明心見性近如來。

Cause And Effect【By Charles Wu】
Unlucky people ask for a good transmigration .
They should not indulge in sex and intoxication.
Noble gentlemen stand firm even in poverty ;
Crafty persons flatter the rich for money.
Since failure or success is God’s arrangement ,
sorrow and joy make no amendment.
Longevity or to die young is fickle ;
we should not be proud or sorrowful .
If we cease evil act and cultivate our character ,
we are approaching the righteous sector.
If we behave with our conscience ,
we can be a buddha in an instant.

Flat Chinese Leek is cut in the spring mist.

It is cooked as food and who can resist.

Its fragrance still spreads when we chat at lunch.

We cherish our old days while drinking punch.

Statue of liberty is symbol of democracy.

She raises up her torch towards the world lonely.

The giant has to confine herself in a small island.

At times, she makes fun of her communist husband.

The host lost his Cassa Roma Castle in stock exchange.

Longevity, poverty, die young and get rich are in God’s hand.

A worked-out quarry site is changed into a showroom.

The creator has a great zeal for horticulture.

Virtuous person is always a flower lover.

Winter Morning【By Charles Wu】

Snow piled up the door in the morning of winter.

All mountains were covered with layer of silver.

They looked like sleeping Buddhas in dead silence.

Clouds danced around the jagged rocks in absence.

No apes came out to collect the gift fruits scattering.

Only cold mist invaded the pines with cranes chirping.

Professor Cheng was very cruel to his students.

During his dozing, they had to stood outdoor in patience.

Our superintendent treats all people kindly.

The goal in her life is to pursue Truth, Ideals and Beauty.

She relieves the poor and serves the community.

In addition to education, she raises money for charity.

Winning respect of all, she is a broad-minded speaker.

Her noble aim is to convey the quintessence of Chinese culture.

None can bear the burden of work like her so willingly.

All colleagues extol her moral integrity loudly.

At a silent spring night, I watch the Dipper with deep sighs.

China is divided into three parts without compromise.

In Hong Kong, democratic reform is a question.  

Bribery scandals spread in Taiwan election.

At times, the Communist party becomes so unkind.

The living standard of most Chinese still lags behind.

The harvest in many fertile farmland is very poor. Why ?

Farmers do not cultivate in full strength and they never try.

Delicious food and fine wine are offered to my guest.

Eric is entertained in Clifford Villa with our best.

We look for rare products in the market at Canton Road.

In the old lanes near Pearl River, we search items still owed.

Being gluttonous, we try flavor meal in restaurant.

Live fish and shrimp are ordered without caring the payment.

We are glad to learn that the whole China is prosperous.

People become wealthy as shops are in good business.

The poems of Mr. Du-fu are so superior.

His superb thinking makes him a world renown author.

He worries the people of chaos caused by war.

Satirizing social maladies, he becomes the Dipper star.

Since Tang Dynasty, all Chinese have remembered his name.

His works are unprecedented and none can do the same.

He does not care the undeserved reputation.

In his whole life, he devotes all his effort to composition.

Sea war burst out in China near “Liu-gong” island.

In 1895, this place was hence ceded to Japan.

Since then, other foreign countries invaded our mainland.

‘Qing’ monarchy was thus overthrown at short span.

At Qing-ming Day, Chinese used to sweep tombs without alters.

They burn sacrificial offerings to their ancestors.

Some regret the missed chance to respect them before death.

“Is it too late to do it ?” they murmur under their breath.

Such forceful and elegant works run like rapid water.

The approach is so unique ; even angels praise the author.

One book contains critiques about articles of all styles.

Some poems quote the classics of famous ancient files.

In our analysis, we often argue fiercely.

Encountering the best verse, we chant it slowly.

After advanced study, I harboured a high aim.

Relatives expected me to achieve fortune and fame.

I failed to locate the girl friend for my elder brother.

My pen friend dated me and we became lover.

Sad to learn that my poor aunt had no one to depend on.

I was the able son that my father could rely upon.

When I successfully got the job as a civil servant.

The happiest guys in Hong Kong were my aunt and parent.

Dusk In Autumn【By Charles Wu】

Drunk with red, the maple leaves fall to the ground.

Workers return home and birds to their nests with noisy sound.

The setting sun shines on the boats near the bridge.

Latent mist encloses the hedges of the village.

Bell rings in the temple with smoke from its chimney.

At the lawns outside the houses, insects chirp feebly.

You may describe such beauty in full by a poem.

Only good painter can draw a picture about the autumn.

Sad news about the death of Wai-yuen was heard in surprise.

Nothing could be done by his parents with tears in their eyes.

The come and go of our fate is a preset exercise.

May his soul leave the bitterness and live in paradise.

The rain moistens all plants silently in my small garden.

With wet mud, it helps bamboo shoots to grow all a sudden.

Fallen flowers stuck to my clogs make a queer weeping sound.

Tear stains appear on blossoms of the pear trees all around.

Fallen blossoms【By Charles Wu】

By heavy rain and fierce wind, all trees were shaken.
Blossoms fell in pieces to the ground of my garden.
Before the storm, they grew well and smiled to people.
This morning, they were mixed with soil and looked feeble.
Some petals were carried away by limpid stream water.
The narrow walking path buried a lot of fragrant flower.
In daybreak, the rising sun showed its happy face.
Fallen blossoms told him that fruits would take their place.
